Clinical Psychologist
Dr Katingo Hadjipateras Giannoulis is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and an Affiliate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (UK). She holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology, a Masters (MSc) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Surrey and a Ph.D in Psychology from the Royal Holloway and Bedford New Colleges, University of London.
She has over 30 years’ experience working in neurodevelopmental disorders with particular emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). In addition, she provides psychological treatment to adults, adolescents and children for, amongst others, emotional difficulties (eg as a result of bullying), depression, anxiety and anger management, confidence-building and social skills.
She has been a Professor at the American College of Greece (Deree) since 2011, in both the undergraduate and post-graduate departments.
In her research and clinical endeavours, she provides psychotherapeutic services (individual and group) as well as consultation services, support and interventions to families. She also supervises psychologists and mental health professionals. From 1995-2008, she worked as a clinical psychologist in specialist autism multi-disciplinary centres in hospitals of the NHS in London (Guy’s & Maudsley).
While, maintaining her private practice in London, from 2011 onwards she has also established a private practice in Athens.
She is a member of a variety of professional associations in the UK and Greece, such as:
- Member of the Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology Divisions of the
- BPS.
- Member of the Greek Scientific Network for Autism Spectrum Disorders.
- Member of the Scientific Νetwork of ΕΛΣΣΑ (Greek Association for Asperger
- Syndrome.)
- Member of the British Association of Child Psychology and Child Psychiatry.
She has been the Clinical Supervisor at ALMA, the Pan-Hellenic Association of Adapted Activities since 2015 and she has been invited to present at numerous conferences in Greece and abroad.
In 2019 Dr Hadjipateras Giannoulis co-founded the programmes “Autism in
adults” which entail training programmes in social skills and social interaction as well as a psychotherapeutic group for adults with ASD. She is responsible for the scientific supervision and the training material taught in the programme and is clinically responsible for the psychotherapeutic group.
